FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTION
BEFORE THE SESSION
-
Not at all. My focus is on natural, documentary-style photography that captures authentic moments. I take time to get to know you before we begin shooting. We talk, we laugh, and I often share my own birth experiences. Eventually, we find our rhythm together. I'll offer gentle guidance – not so much about posing, but about finding the best light and helping you feel completely at ease.
-
After booking your session, I'll send you a detailed guide with color and texture suggestions, along with other helpful preparation tips.
-
For pregnancy photos, I typically recommend scheduling between 33-37 weeks. Your bump will be beautifully visible, but you won't yet be in that "ready to go" mindset.
For newborn sessions, timing depends on what story you want to tell. The first 1-3 months are perfect for capturing the tender postpartum phase – when everything feels so raw and new, and your baby is still incredibly tiny.
By 3-4 months, babies start looking quite different from their newborn selves – more like the toddlers they'll become.
Around 6-8 months, once they're crawling, sessions become more dynamic (and a bit more challenging!). It's still wonderful, just a different energy.
I've also had the privilege of documenting the end of breastfeeding journeys – something deeply meaningful that can be captured from around 11-12 months on, when the focus shifts to celebrating your unique relationship.
-
Absolutely, though I often suggest we start with just the two of us first. This ensures the session honors your journey into motherhood before we bring in the beautiful chaos of family life.
-
Of course. I love creating something uniquely yours. I've had the honor of documenting four generations of women in one family, and I've captured entire days in the life of families. Let's talk about your vision – together we can create something truly special.
DURING THE SESSION
-
Showing skin often feels natural, especially when you're connecting with your baby. But everything is entirely based on your comfort level – there's absolutely no pressure or expectation.
-
Please take all the time you need. If you're comfortable with it, I love documenting nursing – it's such a beautiful, natural part of your bond with your baby.
-
I always work around your baby's natural rhythms, especially their sleep schedule. These sessions beautifully document the real moments: nursing, sleeping, diaper changes, and all that precious time spent cuddling in bed.
-
We can absolutely reschedule if your little one isn't feeling well. Just let me know as soon as possible so I can adjust my schedule accordingly.
AFTER THE SESSION
-
I do minimal retouching – adjusting light and contrast, with gentle skin editing that maintains the authentic feel of your photos.
-
This is entirely your choice. Your photos can remain completely private. As a small business owner, sharing images does help me grow and connect with other families, but there's never any obligation.
-
You'll receive a beautifully curated gallery with 30+ thoughtfully selected images. Raw files aren't included, as the edited images represent the final artistic vision of your session.
